Freshly retired MLB relief pitcher Steve Cishek is selling his waterfront home in Jupiter, FL.
The pitcher and his family put plenty of thought into the 4,632-square-foot home’s construction in 2021.
“We curated our favorite details of this property, from the places we called home during my career playing baseball,” Cishek says, adding that the builder incorporated the features into a functional floor plan. “The end result ended up being perfect for our young family.”
The list price is $4,431,000—a nod to the No. 31 jersey Cishek wore with several teams during his career.

Cishek was drafted by the Florida Marlins in 2007 and played for eight different teams over the course of his career—most recently for the Washington Nationals, in 2022.
The home has five bedrooms and five bathrooms and sits on a large half-acre lot in an area that is popular with folks from the wide world of sports.
“We’re seeing such a massive influx of professional athletes and their families, or someone that is sports or entertainment adjacent moving here,” says Holly Meyer Lucas, a listing agent with COMPASS. Her husband is retired MLB third baseman Ed Lucas. “There are dozens of professional athletes and their families who live in that immediate area. This home is perfect for that type of a buyer, because you can lock it up for the season and it’ll be fine standing on its own. It’s very low-maintenance.”

While modern and newly constructed, the home was designed with a cozy farmhouse feel.
“This property was built in an area that is a very established and mature type of community,” Meyer Lucas explains. “The vibe of the home really aligns with the vibe in the surroundings.”
It’s also built to withstand Florida-specific weather conditions, such as heat, humidity, and hurricanes.
“It’s hard to have big, gorgeous wooden beams when you have like 100% humidity,” Meyer Lucas says, adding that the builder used impact-resistant windows and special, sustainable wood to create the farmhouse look.
She says the home has a “post-pandemic family workflow,” with some open spaces and other more defined areas.
“It has a traditional dining room and an office that is set away from the main thoroughfare of the home,” Meyer Lucas says, noting that an upstairs area has been used as a playroom but could be converted into a work-from-home space.
She also mentions that the luxe residence is filled with high-end finishes.
“The whole home is so well done with both trendy and traditional design elements,” she says. “Modern farmhouse has been a thing for years now, but this home does it in a classic way. It can morph over time and take on different design trends as they emerge.”

Outside, the curb appeal is spectacular.
“It takes your breath away the moment you pull onto [the property],” Meyer Lucas says. “Professional athletes make a lot of money and have nice things, but it’s important to stay grounded. This is a really good example of a home that is on the water and is new construction and gorgeous, without being over-the-top.”
Outdoor spaces showcase the Florida sunshine, large pool, open-air kitchen, putting green, and boat dock.
“The home is very much aligned with having young kids,” Meyer Lucas explains, adding that it’s easy to keep an eye on everything outside. “When you’re in the kitchen, you have a really good vantage point into the backyard. They did a really good job of creating no blind spots.”
The Cishek family built this home and a spec house next door. Meyer Lucas says they’re staying local and moving into another house they own.
“I think this home checks the boxes for the people who are relocating here—families with money,” she observes. “It checks the boxes for nearly everything.”

Cishek, 36, broke into the big leagues with the Marlins in 2010. The lanky righty bounced around all over the majors, appearing in 737 games and notching 133 saves in his dozen years in MLB.
