Former Gillette Company CEO James M. Kilts hopes for a smooth sale of his Greenwich, CT, estate. He’s listed the luxurious spread for $12.5 million.

Property records show the home was purchased in 2005 for $13.75 million—so Kilts has already shaved a substantial amount off the price in an effort to encourage a buyer to step up.

Built in 2004 on 15 acres, the Georgian-style mansion offers a “rare combination of seclusion and convenience.” The grounds include gardens, woodlands, bluestone terraces, and a pool with pool house.

The interiors of the 15,563-square-foot, five-bedroom home feature plaster millwork and high ceilings.

The chef’s kitchen comes with a butler’s pantry, and a catering and gardening room. Entertaining spaces include living and dining rooms. The home is also outfitted with a sunroom, family room, library, and office.

Located in the gated enclave of Conyers Farm, the home offers 24/7 staffed security. It’s located minutes from shops, schools, and the airport.

Kilts was at the helm of Gillette when the company was acquired by Procter & Gamble for $57 billion in 2005. He’s also founding partner of the private equity firm Centerview Partners.

Helen Maher with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties holds the listing.
