A young NBA player created an outdoor oasis at his home near Sacramento, CA, but is ready to part with the impressive spread.
Detroit Pistons forward Marvin Bagley III bought the nearly two-acre property in the suburb of Elk Grove, CA, after he was drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 2018.
The property is listed for $1,995,000 and has quickly attracted potential buyers. The home is already in pending sale status.
“We have multiple offers on it, and we’re just waiting for the right one to come in,” says listing agent Matthew Hindy, with Re/Max Gold Fair Oaks.
[Bagley] “made it very resort-style,” Hindy notes. “He was traded to another team, and that’s the only reason he’s selling it.”

The Kings selected the 6’11” Bagley from Duke and made him the second overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. After three-and-a-half seasons in Sacramento, the Kings traded him to Detroit in February 2022.
Hindy sold the house to Bagley five years ago and has witnessed the athlete’s many upgrades over the years.
“It has a waterproof jumbotron in the backyard and an NBA-sized, full-court basketball court with bleachers and a scoreboard,” Hindy says.
An outdoor grill area features a kitchen near the pool and a television built into a tree. Hindy says about $300,000 was spent on the outdoor amenities and upgrades.

Two houses sit behind three gates on the large, fully fenced property. The compound is also zoned for barnyard animals.
“You can actually have livestock,” Hindy says. “You can have animals like goats, horses, dogs, so it’s like a private oasis resort in your backyard.”
The five-bedroom, Mediterranean-style main house measures in at 4,500 square feet.
“One of the rooms was converted to a theater room with full blackout shades and reclining seats,” Hindy says, adding that three other bedrooms all have en suite bathrooms and walk-in closets.
The smaller house on the property is about 2,300 square feet and boasts four bedrooms, three baths, a kitchen, and plenty of living space.
It’s perfect for “multi-generational families that have in-laws that want to live with them,” Hindy notes. “Or parents that have older kids and grandkids that want to live where they can be close—but not necessarily in the same house.”

All of the furniture and electronics are included in the deal, even the personalized scoreboard and giant backyard TV.
“It’s so unique,” Hindy observes. “You never see that. Usually, it’s an outdoor TV, but this one is probably 8 feet by 10 feet. You can hook up a PlayStation or Xbox, and you can play any game that you want … with full surround sound around the property.”
Hindy says estates like this are uncommon in the sleepy suburb, south of the city. And for the buyer who loves to hang out at home, this spread offers an ideal setup.
“It’s one of those properties where you go in, and there’s no reason to leave unless you need food,” he says. “It has everything.”
