“The owners were professional musicians. She just retired from teaching the cello, and her late husband was a principal oboist at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. “I had a person call me who was moving from California to the Cleveland area, and they were specifically looking for a modern home,” she says. “It’s located not far from the airport, and Cleveland is just 45 minutes away.”
Martz believes the home is suitable for many different age ranges.
“The prospective buyers have been from all walks of life who come in and are excited by the space of the home,” she says. “Alumni of Oberlin College love its proximity to the school. Others are looking to live in a college town, while musicians and artists are looking for a home to showcase their talent in a space with an abundance of natural light. It’s also a beautiful home for someone who just works from home.”
Martz adds, “The house took 18 months to build. I think the real appeal is that there are very few homes in this area that offer a design quite like this.”
