SUMMARY:PHADA 2025 Annual Convention & Exhibition - Public Housing Authorities Directors Association
DESCRIPTION:PHADA’s 2025 Annual Convention & Exhibition will provide the latest information and tools housing professionals need to run their agencies in challenging times. \n\nThis is the first year of a new congressional session and presidential administration. PHADA is therefore planning several timely sessions on some of the key legislative and policy matters affecting housing authorities. There will be sessions to provide attendees with important information including FY 25 HUD appropriations and the proposed 2026 budget. \n\nOther sessions will include updates on the implementation of the Housing and Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA) and the Build America, Buy America (BABA) rules. Other topics that will be covered include practical guidance for new executive directors, the Department’s regulation that changes eviction timing for non-payment, and Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) rule changes. \n\nIn addition to these sessions for executive directors and their staff, PHADA will provide training for commissioners. Expected sessions will cover strategic and succession planning, dealing with HUD’s budget uncertainty, insurance, ethics, and current events in housing, among other topics.
