SUMMARY:NCREIF Spring Conference 2023
DESCRIPTION:Economic Conditions and Real Estate Capital Markets\n\n2022 was a tough year for the U.S. consumer with inflation soaring, interest rates rising, and the stock market down for the year. Commercial real estate investors did not have an easy time of it either, with write-downs leading to some quarterly negative appreciation in our indexes. In fact, our latest ODCE data point as of this writing in mid-January comes from the Preliminary Snapshot for Q4, which registered -5%. This represents the lowest total return since the global financial crisis over a decade ago.\n\nWe've invited a group of experts to our Spring conference to help us dissect what 2023 will bring. We'll examine not only economic conditions which may impact us, but conditions in our industry's capital markets, which affect us directly. Come with questions! Joining us for a couple of special panel discussions will be:\n\nShifra Ansonoff, Head of Global Research, Preqin\nJim Clayton, Ph.D. from York University, Schulich School of Business\nBill Hughes, Ph.D. Bergstrom Real Estate Center, University of Florida\nHessam Nadji, President and CEO of Marcus & Millichap\nKevin Thorpe, Cushman's Chief Economist & Head of Global Research\nMore names to come!!\nAlso to come in Phoenix is NCREIF's second Solutions Expo. This event will focus on bringing our membership the opportunity to meet with both Fund Administrators and Data Vendors. Something for all disciplines!
